Mike is a senior conceptual and architectural designer with a diverse range of project types to his credit. For 18 years he has provided creative direction, design and sustainable development consulting at an international level for a host of leading companies and individuals.

Well versed in many architectural traditions and having been introduced to design thinking and sustainable building practices at an early age, his involvement in projects encompasses both planning and architecture. Often a part of multi-disciplinary teams for complex projects of all scales, his client’s master planning and architectural design projects have taken him to nearly every corner of the globe. He also works for larger design and engineering firms, focusing on entertainment, retail, residential, mixed use and the resort industry.

A student of architectural history and avid preservationist, he has worked on many historic properties including the Santa Anita Racetrack and the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California.

He has provided creative direction and design solutions for a diverse array of clients including Passport Resorts, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Walt Disney Imagineering, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Travaasa Experiential Resorts.

Mike’s unique global approach and eclectic clients have influenced his current work on several ongoing resort projects in California that reflect his commitment to community and the environment, including the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur and the El Capitan Canyon Resort in Santa Barbara. He has been the “designer in residence” at both properties since 2008.

Mike dedicates a significant amount of his creative energy assisting and growing non-profit ventures. He is currently on the board of an NGO working with the Maasai in Tanzania on education, clean water and anti-poaching programs.

Mike is a graduate of Kansas State University, where he is on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Architecture, Design and Planning. He is a LEED Accredited Professional.
